THE RINGS BRIDGE 二井三环文星桥 In a village, well is a source of life where activities gather around it. This project attempts to re insert urban well as a communal node. Two wells are created, one is the CITY well (Linjiang Building) and the another is the NATURE well. These two wells act as viewing towers, urban gallery and a gateway to the 2nd level new bridge sky ring walk.

cc1

This new bridge complex is envisioned to link communities together from both sides and energise the entire city.

cc2

Between the two wells, 3 rings are created over the river. This is to slow down the process of river crossing with wavy and looping paths. These 3 rings define 3 courtyards and are inserted with programs of different URBAN PLAY.

c5

The site is shaped with existing trails and pavement that is shaped by the residents. 3 components are inserted, namely the LINE, LOOP and CIRCLE. The concept of the LINE is to follow these traits and superimpose a new red line over. It weaves along the existing traits in a zig zag, creating LOOPS.

c1

Accent red with the backdrop of winter white.

c4

Multipurpose entrance plaza.

c3

The concept is built on the existing spontaneous network of paths "drawn" by the needs and flows of the residents passing through the park. A red line of 2,025 metres is laid over the existing main path.

c2

This masterplan is separated into 3 zones, namely Discovery, Sports and Play, which are planned in respect to the surrounding context. The Discovery Zone is located in the masterplan core, while the Sports Zone hinges onto the Eastern Sports Complex. The Play Zone flows from the existing urban node at the South West. In terms of the main circulation, only 2 bold colours of red and orange are used to define the paths for different pace of leisure walking, jogging and cycling.

c6

The entire masterplan is a vision to re-energize this park with minimal removal of the existing vegetation, providing new discovery and narration to the current and new users.

c7

Outdoor classroom with discovery routes.
